Description 

The ML02WP is an electromagnetic lock which is designed to hold up to 270Kg force. The ML02WP magnetises when 12/24VDC is applied to the supply wires. The ML02WP is fully waterproof and is ideal for installation on outside electronic sliding or swing gates, doors etc. The lock must be rigidly mounted to the gate post. The armature is designed to pivot slightly to compensate for reasonable misalignment. Due to the wide diversity of gate designs custom mounting brackets may be necessary to facilitate the installation. An optional L-Z bracket (LZ02) can be used to accommodate the majority of gate and door applications. The lock is mounted to the vertical gate post. The armature is mounted to the leading edge of the gate

 Swing gates are not as secure as slide gates, but with the addition of a magnetic lock, your gate is at least secured against a person pushing the gate open. Without a magnetic lock, a strong person very well may be able to push your gate open and get to the goodies within that you were hoping to protect.

You've probably already surmised this, but a magnetic lock or maglock is a locking device that uses electromagnetism that is engaged by power sent to it from your gate operator when the gate is closed. Maglocks are only unlocked when you give the gate the open command with, for instance, a push of your remote or an entry on the gate's keypad.

Please, not magnetic locks are only suitable for electric mains powered gate kits with a magnetic connection port on the control board..
